A militant group, the Niger Delta Avengers of Imo State origin, have surrendered their arms and ammunition to Governor Rochas Okorocha.
On Wednesday, the militants arrived the state Government House in trucks around 12pm in white T-shirts with the inscription, “Disarmament of Agitators, Powered by the Niger Delta Youths Volunteer Peace Advocacy.”
Governor Okorocha, after receiving the surrendered arms and ammunitions, commended them for their rare display of patriotism and assured that security agencies would no longer invade their areas adding that, their demands, grievances and agitations would be addressed soon.
